- 2nd Place in the nation at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Championship for 5-Axis CNC Programming
Overview
I picked up CNC milling and CAM in my junior year. I competed in the 2026 SkillsUSA National Championship in 5-Axis CNC Programming and won 2nd place in the nation. Below are some of the cool things I’ve made.
3-Axis: The Beginning
First parts (softjaws)

Finished softjaws

TM1 (Titans of CNC Part)
I started milling and learning CAM in the first week of school on a 3-axis Haas Mini Mill and Fusion360.
First parts on Haas VF-2
3-Axis and 3+2-Axis Parts for Juice 16236

Automated Probing
Probing in simulation
Probing macro on the Haas Mini Mill
This custom probing macro I developed eliminates the need to manually jog the probe over the part and go through the Haas VPS/probing controls. This automation significantly cuts down on setup times, by ~20%.
5-Axis:
3+2-axis
Full 5-axis
I started learning 5-axis milling two months into my Junior year, beginning with 3+2 on the Haas VF-2 and later progressing to simultaneous 5-axis on the Haas UMC-350HD.
